ISO 37101
The Excellence Framework for Sustainable Cities and Communities
Overview
As communities pursue the aims of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, they are generally seeking to implement systems and tools to effectively manage these efforts. The ISO 37101 family of standards provides the guidance necessary to define and systematically implement policies, procedures and projects necessary for smart and resilient sustainable development.



IRCCC Purpose

Managed by the Smart Planet Association (SPA), the International Registry of Certified Cities and Communities (IRCCCC) shall recognize those communities that are committed to:
- Managing sustainability and fostering smartness and resilience in their city/community, while considering our territorial boundaries;
- Improving the contribution of their city/community to sustainable development outcomes;
- Assessing the performance of their city/community in progressing towards sustainable development outcomes and the level of smartness and of resilience that they have achieved;
- Fulfilling the compliance obligations that apply to their city/community.



Community Recognition
If your organization has the responsibility and authority for managing the Sustainable Development efforts of a city/community, you can express your commitment to excellence and be recognized via the following:
